The brief:
C’est Design was commissioned by Khun Chin to relaunch Kimukatsu, the renowned tonkatsu brand from Ebisu, Tokyo, back to Thailand after its closure during the COVID period.
The goal was to reintroduce the brand with a refreshed concept and a clearer, stronger identity.
Our creative solution:
After studying the current tonkatsu market, we positioned Kimukatsu as the original Mille-feuille Katsu pioneer. With mille-feuille rooted in French cuisine — and tonkatsu itself tracing influences from France — we developed a refined French–Japanese brand direction.
To make the brand more approachable across generations, we introduced three signature characters: Chef TonTon, Mimi, and Renard.
Kimukatsu Thailand is now the first in the world to present this concept. We are truly honored to have brought this vision to life and sincerely thank our client for the opportunity.
